Professional printing in Hatfield is too expensive myth busted

Minuteman Press in Hatfield often gets asked by customers if professional printing is more expensive than printing in-house. In this article we bust the myth that the outsourcing of digital printing is more expensive for businesses.
One of the biggest mistakes growing companies make is deciding to buy an expensive printer when things start going well. The thinking behind this usually centres around the fact that, now that you are getting bigger, the amount of printing you’ll be doing – including printing things like pamphlets and brochures – will be significantly more so you might as well just invest this once so that you can save on future printing costs.
Now, whilst at face value this seems like reasonable thinking, if you really start analysing it in depth, the theory starts falling apart. Companies will start realising that in-house printing has hidden expenses like printing overheads and running costs. In reality, you don’t save money and you don’t save time.
Enjoy great value for money and professional service to boot
The first thing you need to realise is that, even though you think you are saving a few cents in printing costs per page, you are not taking into account the amount of money you are losing in employee productivity. Taking time out of employees schedule in order to meet the printing needs inside your business or department can lead to less productivity, which in turn leads to more time wasted and less money made.
Then, of course, there are more obvious costs involved. Things like the need to have your printer regularly serviced because the less you look after it the more expensive it is to run. Oh yes, and don’t forget that you’ll be losing out on significant discounts for bulk purchases of paper and ink. You will now also have to deal with the problem of paper waste, since employees are known to not worry about the costs of printing and will now print anything that they feel is needed in the office.
The last and least apparent cost to your bottom line is that, no matter how good of a commercial grade printer you buy, the quality of the printed image you produce will never be as good as those of industrial printers.
What this means is that, if you go the route of printing your own pamphlets, brochures and other promotional material, they will never look as good as those printed by the professionals who have not only the equipment, but also the experience, to deliver the best quality possible.
