Emergency Planning

On 18 April I attended the Kempton Park Business Chamber Meeting and had the privilege to meet Roggers Mamaila.  He spoke to us about the importance of Emergency Planning.  Most of us do not even have an emergency plan for our business.

A fire can destroy your home or business in a moment.  Ask yourself:  “How will I go back into business if I lose everything today?”

That is why I would like to share some of the important points he addressed with you.

  • Bad housekeeping is one of the most common reasons for a fire to start.
  • Have a one page emergency plan which is executable.
  • It is your responsibility to keep your side prepared and ready for emergencies.
  • Do you know what is going on next door?
  • It is worthwhile to get a smoke detector.
