Tips for sticker and label printing from Minuteman Press Cresta

November 6, 2013 · Print This Article

At Minuteman Press in Cresta, we have noticed that businesses are realising the power of stickers as a means of advertising and not just organising files, so we sat down with our in-house design team and discussed the best ways that businesses can go about turning stickers and labels into effective marketing tools. Here’s what we came up with!

How to print stickers and labels

  • Write up a brief about what you want your sticker to do for your company. Are you trying to encourage consumers and their families to collect them? Are they simply a gimmick or do you want them to be useful – i.e. as a licence disc holder or business card for example? When you have all this information, you’ll be able to start designing the right sticker for your business!
  • Decide on colours and designs for your sticker. Remember, you want your consumer to like it enough to display it – and you want other people who see it to be attracted to it as well. A white background is often the most effective for bold, coloured text, but many other combinations work provided they are high contrast.
  • Think about printing on the back as well as the front. This is vital for any sticker, regardless what surface it’s going to be placed on. If it will likely be on glass, the promotional aspect is easy to see, but even before it is stuck down you have a chance to communicate.
  • Decide how to distribute them. The best thing about stickers is that they fit in everywhere – from tradeshows and product launches to simply handing them out in newsletters and to customers as they visit your store. Remember to factor this in to the size of your order.

Successful sticker and label printing is all about thinking outside the box and letting your creativity run wild – which makes it a perfect marketing medium. Contact us at Minuteman Press in Cresta for the latest designs and innovations in the sticker and label printing industry!
