Wedding invitations – printers in Menlyn give this advice

Wedding printing (and of course the invitations) invitations isn’t all about the design, paper finish and wording. You need to make sure you consider all aspects of your invitations. Minuteman Press in Menlyn gives this advice:

Guest list

Finalise the guest list and group the couples/families accordingly before ordering any invitations or envelopes. Order extra envelopes and wedding invitations (25 more than required) as mistakes as well as other alterations to the final guest list are common.

Once the wedding invitations and envelopes have arrived, print out a list of all the groups of guests with their respective titles as well as the applicable families and/or plus ones. It is always better to have a physical list in front of you with a pen in hand so that you can write down alterations and notes.

Style and tone

If you doubt which style to incorporate into your wedding invitations, always go with a sleeker, more professionals feel. This sends out the right tone and the idea that it is an important, formal event.

Married or simply dating, always confirm that couples are still together as this might cause problems if they are not.

If children are invited to the wedding ensure that the full titles of the couples are on the invitation followed by “and family” to indicate that their children are invited. If their children are 18 (or older) and still live at home, address them with their proper titles separately on the same invitation.
